Public Art Brought to Life with Animation

On the busy streets of Utrecht and Amsterdam in the Netherlands in early 2021, you might have found me sitting stationary on a park bench just waiting to be animated with augmented reality technology. Look through your smartphone and, like a portal to another world, I would come to life just like in the video here.

Animated Women joined Kaboom Animation Festival 21 with an AR animation public exhibition to celebrate women animators around the world. I was invited to contribute my own self-portrait, and, amongst 31 other female animators from around the world, had my piece “Transported by Music” presented online and on the streets.
