Griffith City Council planned a celebration of local art, culture, food, and community on Kooyoo Street and around the surrounding areas. With the range of exciting activities like hula hooping classes, projection artwork, local markets and a pop-up wine bar, the April event was expected to be a hit. The council running the project wanted to get the festival off on the right foot and so they engaged me to animate their logo and brand elements to help raise awareness and build some excitement.
Given the incredibly creative design the team at Straight Lines developed, creating the motion graphic elements was exactly the kind of challenge that I just love. I had a strong vision of how to inject energy into the logo and bring some more excitement to the event’s promotions.
And how did it all turn out? The Griffith City Council enjoyed a greatly popular event, the local community (and visitors from around) were inspired to get involved in the art, culture and delicious food, and local businesses enjoyed the extra attention too. Compared to a static logo or graphic, the marketing and promotions team behind the event had the benefit of standing out from the advertising noise with a simple yet strong brand.
